Kundalini yoga is a lifestyle to consent the best in you and in all living beings. The purpose of the practice is to bring out your highest potential; physically, mentally and spiritually. It’s both a dynamic and meditative practice, with music (mantra) posture (asana), breathing (pranayama) in combination with hand position (mudra) and body locks (bhandas). The class structure always includes relaxation and often meditation at the end. The classes are open to everyone easily adjusted to any level. Kundalini yoga strengthens the nerve and hormone system, increases the lung capacity and flexibility in muscles and joints, oxygenates the blood and can decrease stress related symptoms. Regular practice can also help the ability to focus. It's called the Yoga of Awareness, since the main focus is to move our creative energy through our energy centers (chakras), opening and balancing them, tuning in to a higher vibration and taping into our inner wisdom.

Kundalini yoga was brought from India to the west by the enlightened master Yogi Bhajan in the sixties, who saw the need for a more powerful tool to handle the problems we are dealing with internally and externally in the society. From the US it kept spreading and today it continues to grow rapidly in the world. This form of yoga is one of the most ancient kinds, and was originally taught in secret societies to those who were considered dignified to practice it. Today it is available to everyone, and is successfully used in hospitals in Sweden as rehabilitation for patients with heart and back conditions.

Class info:

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in
  • Bring a yoga mat (sitting cushions are available to borrow at Bodhi Heart in case you don't have a mat)
  • Bring a water bottle
  • Avoid big meals within the two hours before class
  • For your first class; please message me and come 15 min before class starts so I can brief you on the basic terms used in class! Please inform me of pregnancy, injuries, high blood pressure or if you are on any medical drugs. All are welcome to practice yoga!
