Nearly one million people have now been affected by the widespread flooding across Myanmar. It is reported that hundreds have died, more that a million acres of rice fields have been destroyed.
People were "returning home to nothing" with their homes and belongings buried in mud!
In conjunction with vassa entry of Sayadaw Ponnya, the Burmese community has planned a blood donation campaign at Bodhi Heart Sanctuary on 30 August 2015 from 9 am to 2 pm. 500 local Myanmar residents have signed up for the program. This will surely be a big help to our General Hospital Blood Bank, benefiting many Malaysians. You too are invited to join in to participate.
It is unfortunate that Myanmar is hit by the massive floods and hundreds of thousands are made homeless.
The local Myanmar residents have always shown their generosity in helping the construction of temples, meditation centres in Penang and various community works. Their voluntary effort and now, the blood donation campaign is a testimony to their services given to Malaysia.
Now that Myanmar is badly hit with the floods and many people are crying for help, we shall do our part to support them in their desperate hours.
You can help by sponsoring RM50 for each blood donor or donate any amount to the "Myanmar Flood Victims".
Every dollar you contribute will go directly in helping the flood victims.
